Just a few weeks, after President Jonathan had declared fire for fire on insurgents terrorizing the nation, an estimated 2000 members of the sect, have been killed by combined forces of the Airforce and the JTF.

The operation which commenced on Friday to Saturday, could have been a flawless victory for the Nigerian army, but for a misunderstanding between the Airforce and the mobile infantry, which leaves about 20 soldiers, still unaccounted for.
It was reported that the airforce had radioed the ground forces, telling her they were out of bombs, and should withdraw, two platoons out of three, got the order and withdrew but one didn't, as they may have lost communication with the airforce.

After the raid, members of the Nigerian Military who warred with the insurgents, were counted and there it was discovered 20 soldiers were missing.
