PROPAGANDA COUNTER-STRIKE ON CHIBOK GIRLS' VIDEO RELEASE

Following the video released by the Boko Haram group, security experts say that the seemingly happy expression by the kidnapped Chibok girls was a propaganda strike showing that the group is unbowed.

The video reveals teenage girls with babies. According to our source, a speech in the Nigerian Hausa Language,  by one of the girls was interpreted as follows:
“We are the Chibok girls. We are the ones you are crying about for us to come back. By the grace of Allah, we are never coming back”.

In April 2014, 220 girls were abducted in Chibok (northern Nigeria) from their school. Through mediation, about a 100 or more girls were released and few escaped, while some are thought to be held captive.

According to the director of risk management consultancy Signal Risk, Ryan Cummings:
“The latest release can definitely be tied to the Nigerian government’s claim that Boko Haram is defeated”.
