THE BIG QUESTION FOR RIVERS STATE GOVERANCE

I have been pondering on somethings and I need some genuine answers from people that know. If the Governor of Rivers State was given passage by the Supreme Court on the basis of him winning his party's primaries, even though he never campaigned nor lobbied for anybody's vote, what then happens when he decides to move to another party?
Does he still retain the office of Governor as a member of another party different from the one that brought him to office? On the other hand, does the APC actually need to enter into a merger agreement with just any association of people or with another political party? Can parties merge with social clubs, banks, social cultural groups, etc...? #JUSTASKING#
